a week of new designs – day 7

And the final peek at some new designs that will be available this weekend is this simple birthday card complete with a reusable bird clip.

That wraps up the week of new designs – thanks for following along!  All of the designs are available online and will also be available at the Arlington Open Studios event this weekend.  I’ll be in the gym on the second floor from 12 to 5 pm both days.  Stop by and say hello if you are in the area!

a week of new designs – day 6

I hope you’re still following along this week as some new card designs are revealed!  And don’t forget: you can get any of them from the online store before Arlington Open Studios this weekend too.

Okay so today’s reveal is more of a double peek but they are pretty similar so what the heck.  I freakin’ love this stamp from Stampin’ Up!  And when I first saw it I immediately thought of my two monsters stamp – there’s something about the expressions on their faces that makes me crack up.  I decided to also make the card with the two owls because I love their expressions too.

And again, a return of that super cool grid paper as a background.  I kind of like how the lines still show through the marker colored images.  I’ve started to hand-stitch on some cards again after playing with this design too.  Enjoy!

a week of new designs – day 5

When you want to simply wish someone a happy birthday.  🙂

The words “happy birthday” were die cut and adhered to the top of this card so that it pops off a little bit.  The “i” is decorated with a sparkly rhinestone.  The grey, green, white and blue color palette is one of my favorites lately.

[The arrow stamps and the word die cuts are by Papertrey Ink.]

a week of new designs – day 4

This design is the first time I’ve played with layering scalloped paper.  I like the effect and it’s a great way to add depth without making the card too heavy.  The “thank you” was die cut out of white cardstock and I like how it stands out from the background paper.

Some customers have brought up concern about the darker card bases that I use.  Rest assured that there is a piece of lighter paper inside these cards so that you can write your message without having to invest in a white pen (although, those *are* quite cool and one of my favorite writing utensils these days).

a week of new designs – day 3

I fell in love with this stamp set when I first saw it on the Papertrey Ink website because of the fun arrow graphics.  And then when I saw the speech bubble die cut that they released, I couldn’t wait to pair them together for this card design.

The grid paper in the background is from the Becky Higgins line of Project Life products that local Michaels stores recently began carrying.  I love that it’s a 3″ x 4″ size and already comes with the corners rounded.  And the “hi” words?  Those are puffy stickers!  Aren’t they cute?

[Arrow stamps are by Maile Belles for Papertrey Ink; speech bubble is by Papertrey Ink; orange ink is “Tangerine Tango” by Stampin’ Up!; grey ink is “Dove Grey” by Tsukineko StazOn; the hand drawn black line in the speech bubble was done using a Spica glitter pen; and the grey cardstock base is “gravel” from Paper Source.]

a week of new designs – day 2

A colorful and shimmery display of ginko leaves on this Happy Thanksgiving card.

a week of new designs – day 1

Exactly one week from today I’ll be standing at a table while greeting passersby at the Arlington Open Studios event.  That means it’s down to the wire this week for me to create new card designs.  This week’s posts will be a different design featured each day to give you a sneak peek at what I’ll have available at AOS next weekend – hope to see you there!

This one is a super simple and clean design with a straight forward message: wishing you a very happy birthday.  I love the pop of color from the mixed patterned paper and have really been digging the white-on-white look.

hello, october

I inadvertently took a break from blogging in August and September … but hello, October!

My first post for this month will be like a warning that if you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you’ll probably be overwhelmed by new greeting card designs over the next couple of weeks.  I’m prepping inventory for two upcoming shows (details on the right of my home page – click for more info): the Arlington Open Studios in October and a Holiday Craft Market in November.  Here are some of my latest creations to show what I’ve been up to at the wee hours of the night (errr, morning … whatever):

I’m learning that with a toddler, that means super late nights and less productivity than I’m used to.  I’m also learning that her little friends have 2nd birthdays coming up everywhere, so I’ve been trying to come up with more “kid friendly” designs.  I made this one for her little buddy, James.

greeting cards :: 4 new designs

I’ll be at the Arlington Open Studios event this Sunday (10/14) so I’ve been busy trying to come up with new greeting card designs.  Here are just four that I’ve created over the past month or so, and I couldn’t have done it without my dear husband’s help and support!  I am lucky to have him at home watching our little one and allowing me time to get away to be creative.

I hope you can stop by to check them out at the show — they always looks much better in person!  🙂
