During our recent jaunt over to the west coast last month, we stopped at the Ferry Building Marketplace.  Wow!  It’s probably a good thing that I don’t live in San Francisco because I could totally see myself frequenting the place and easily spending a good buck or two.  It’s filled with some wonderful food shops, a seafood market, and two meat shops not to mention restaurants and specialty stores too.

After pacing the marketplace a couple of times we finally decided to grab lunch from Boccalone, a salumeria that specializes in “tasty pig parts” (hee hee).  My husband enjoyed one of their salumi paninis and I went for their famous salumi cone.  Paired with some fresh onion bread from Acme Bread Company, it was quite a delicious lunch.

In addition to the marketplace, there’s an outdoor farmers market that takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.  We strolled through part of it and discovered that they have food trucks too.  I could definitely see us returning here on our next visit to San Francisco.
