If you’re ever in the Amherst, Massachusetts area and find yourself hungry, stop by Moti – a Persian Mediterranean restaurant located on North Pleasant Street. We were on our way to Northampton one afternoon and decided to stretch our legs in Amherst. It has a cute little downtown area full of dining options so we walked up and down the street a couple of times before finally deciding to pop in after being enticed by their menu.
It was a really warm day so a tall glass of their lemonade made with rose water hit the spot. The inner dining area (away from the front door and order counter) is nicely decorated with fabric, pretty light lanterns, and metal ceiling tiles.
It has been a really long time since I’ve had a gyro so after asking a couple of questions and learning that they could omit the tomatoes for me, I went ahead and ordered a lamb gyro in a pocket. It’s available as a pocket or in a wrap which is larger – the pocket was plenty for me. It was so nicely seasoned and delicious! The tzatziki wasn’t over powering with garlic, and the pocket added a nice texture to the whole dish. Needless to say, I was one very happy camper after lunch! I would definitely stop by the next time we’re in Amherst.
