I used to be an avid paper scrapbooker. Like I mean, I used to fill albums with 12″x12″ pages full of photos, journaling, and the latest and greatest embellishments. Of course, this was before I had a child and it seemed like there was more time in a day! But now that I have a little human that I want to preserve memories for, I’ve slowly tried to get back into scrapbooking by way of Project Life. I tried doing it by combining some paper elements with digital elements (because all of my photos are digital files now) but even that got to be a little time consuming for me when she was very little. Then one day, Becky Higgins and her crew at Project Life decided to create an app that was Android friendly, and that has been a real lifesaver for me ever since!
A digital scrapbook layout – my first in a very long time! Since she’s been born, I have already accumulated a ton of photos of our daughter. I know this isn’t a traditional scrapbook layout using real paper and glue, but I’m hoping it’ll get me back into scrapping. I already have so many ideas for pages in my head but I thought I needed to at least start from the beginning with the day that she entered our lives before I jumped ahead to the present day.
I used the lyrics from Shania Twain’s “From This Moment” song with the photo of the instant I met our little baby girl. 🙂 What’s great about being a rookie at digital scrapbooking is that you can find a lot of free templates to use online (like this one) where you just add your photo and change the papers (which you can also find for free on some sites). I like the idea of using strips of different (scrap) pieces of patterned paper on a layout like this so I think I’ll try transferring the idea to a real scrapbook layout (hopefully sometime soon) too.
I used to be addicted to scrapbooking. Seriously, like I have albums and albums full of the real paper-and-adhesive type of layouts filling baker’s rack shelves in my crafting space. But over the past couple of years I sort of fell out of it and became a lot more absorbed in card making and stamping. Lately I’ve been drawn to digital scrapbooking (I dabbled in it a little bit a couple of years ago too, but never really got serious about it) after following the blogs of a couple of supertalented scrappers and gaining inspiration here and there.
